Designed in 1952 by George Nelson, these elegant lamps rest on a sturdy and lightweight steel frame while forming an airy and delicate ensemble. Nelson was inspired by a set of Swedish pendant lamps covered in silk that he wanted to acquire for his office. Unfortunately, their price seemed unaffordable. Nelson being as clever as he was resourceful, he set about creating the first set of Bubble lamps by spraying a white, translucent resin, a technique developed at the time by the American army. Nelson drew inspiration from various simple and authentic shapes to design these pendant lights.
